Potluck party

  How often do you go to parties? What are parties like in your country?  I would like to share a very   interesting point on this topic. Once, while I was in the United States I was invited to go to a Potluck   Party and as you may know I did not get the idea of what it was about! What does it have to do with   luck? And pot?

  Well, first thing is a potluck party does not necessarily have a relation to luck, but it certainly does with pot as a recipient to prepare food!

  A potluck party is a meeting where people prepare a dish of food and take it to be shared among the   ones attending the meeting. It is also known as potluck dinner, spread, Jacob’s join, Jacob’s supper,   faith supper, covered dish supper, bring and share,shared-lunch, pitch-in, carry-in, bring-a-plate, dish-to-pass.

It is very interesting as many people can bring many different types of food for main course or dessert as well as beverages. It is a certain promise of diverse foods

You can organize your own potluck and I am pretty sure you’ll get lots of fun and lots of food!

First you should think of a theme for your party. That can be Mexican food, pizza, Brazilian food, snacks or some of the type. That would help you in having a great and enjoyable dinner together with your friends.

Also, plan your potluck considering the following steps:

•  Take out the platters, spoons, forks in advance. Don’t expect your guests to bring their cutleries with them.
• Try preparing all the dishes in advance.
• If you are attending a potluck dinner then try preparing such a dish, which is easy to carry to the host’s venue.
• Your friends may want to take the leftovers back home. Be prepared to get them some boxes or bags!

In the potluck party I was I could share the food I prepared and also I could try all the other food my fellows had prepared and you can bet: they were all delicious! So I was lucky of trying all those awesome pots of food in a party!
